I have been praying that my flight home on Christmas Eve won’t be like some cheesy Christmas movie where I am forced to celebrate my Christmas with complete strangers eating outrageously overpriced airline snacks. But, if all goes well I’ll be home for Christmas! And for this travel nurse, that means lots of snuggles with my nieces and nephews, silly Holiday lifetime movies with my mama, looking out onto the snowy fields with a good book and mug of hot cocoa in hand, and cherished time with my loved ones.
Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we’ve no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
And for a change instead of sunny white beaches, I will be coming home to a winter wonderland! I am so blessed to have this time. If you are a travel nurse you know, it is nearly impossible to get a day off when your working on contract, and so to have 15 days off will be like a little piece of heaven to my soul. My life has been so beautifully chaotic, but to be honest I can’t wait for some lazy days in my pajamas with nothing on my to-do list apart from some holiday baking.
I mean, who wouldn’t want to spend their Christmas with all these cuties?
Wishing all of you a Merry Christmas this year! I’m going to be taking some time off from blogging for a few short weeks to enjoy all my time with family and get some much needed rest this holiday season. Get excited for The Joyful Nurse 2017, there is a lot coming up, including a brand new logo created by my friend Alarie with Morning Light Designs!
But of course I’ll miss some things about California 😉
